GrojSale ("we", "us", "our") operates the GrojSale mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account information (email address, display name, password)
- Phone number (optional, for verified seller status)
- Sale listings (title, description, address, photos, dates, items)
- Payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)
Information collected automatically:
- Device location (only while the app is in use, with your permission)
- Device type, operating system, and app version
- Usage data (pages viewed, features used, crash reports)
- Push notification tokens
3. How We Use Your Information

4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these cases:
- With buyers: Your sale address, photos, description, and first name are visible to anyone browsing the app
- With Stripe: Payment-related information for processing transactions and payouts
- With service providers: AWS (hosting, storage), Google Maps (geocoding), Expo (push notifications), Sentry (crash reporting)
- Legal requirements: If required by law, subpoena, or to protect safety
5. Location Data
We request foreground location access to show sales near you. Your precise coordinates are used only on-device for distance calculations and are never stored on our servers. We store only the city/region you're browsing in for the purpose of fetching relevant sales.
Sale addresses provided by sellers are geocoded (converted to map coordinates) and stored to display pins on the map.
6. Data Retention
- Active accounts: data retained while your account exists
- Deleted accounts: profile and personal data deleted immediately; anonymized transaction records retained for legal/financial compliance
- Sale listings: removed from public view when ended or deleted; anonymized records kept for 90 days
- Bookmarks: automatically deleted 7 days after the sale ends
7. Your Rights & Choices
- Delete your account: Account > Profile > Delete Account removes all your data
- Location: You can deny location access; the app will ask for a zip code instead
- Push notifications: Disable in your device settings at any time
- Data export: Contact us at support@grojsale.app to request a copy of your data
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data:
- All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
- Passwords hashed and managed by AWS Cognito
- Payment credentials handled entirely by Stripe (PCI DSS compliant)
- Auth tokens stored in device secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore)
9. Children's Privacy
GrojSale is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
